John’s Creek Watershed Assessment, Fulton County, Georgia

EMA, as a subcontractor to KHAFRA engineering, conducted the watershed characterization for the Johns Creek sanitary sewer service area in North Fulton County as a part of the County’s effort to prepare watershed management plans for each of the sanitary sewer service areas.  This effort included biological monitoring and water quality monitoring at six locations within the watershed as well as two reference stations.

The biological monitoring activities included preparing sampling plans, habitat assessments, benthic macroinvertebrate sampling and fish tissue sampling and analysis. The water quality monitoring required recommending parameters, methods and equipment; preparing a Quality Assurance Project Plan, a Health and Safety Plan and a Sampling and Analysis Plan as well as monitoring and sampling.  The biological monitoring results and the water quality monitoring results were summarized in technical memorandums
