EMA performed Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments for 11 commercial/industrial sites in the Atlanta area. One of the sites was listed on the Georgia's Hazardous Site Inventory (HSI) which required the preparation of a Prospective Purchaser Corrective Action Plan (PPCAP). The PPCAP was used to limit purchaser's liability with respect to State required environmental cleanup. Three of the other parcels were found to have groundwater contamination. EMA worked successfully with the State Hazardous Site Response Program to obtain a "No Listing" letter for all three parcels. Two sites were found to have previously had underground storage tanks that had been removed, but not properly closed with the State UST Program Office. EMA performed testing, submitted closure reports and was able to obtain clean closure of the tanks from the UST Program Office.
